1 Habit All Successful Filmmakers Have In Common
The most successful filmmakers share these things in common:
They are disciplined with their time.
They collaborate effectively with others.
They are continuously learning and evolving.
They are resilient and able to overcome obstacles.
They are passionate about their work.
But, there is 1 Habit All Successful Filmmakers Have In Common👇🏼
➡️ They all asked for help and built a support system around them. 💜
And here’s why:
Film is one of the most collaborative mediums out there.
So, you’re bound to need help at some point along the way.
Let’s think of one example:
In awards ceremonies we get to hear from notable filmmakers as they share their speeches. And, in every one, there’s a thank you to a special someone.
Whether that’s a mentor, a partner, a friend, a family member, or a pet — they are there for you.
We’re social beings and we all have challenges.
It’s important to ask for help.
And allow for a support system to develop around you for when you need it.
Find someone(s):
who can listen,
who can help you grow,
who can challenge you,
who can provide the feedback you need,
who can keep you on track to meet your goals,
and who can remind you to follow your passion.
They’ll be there when times are good and when they’re tough.
Next, ask them how you can help them.
I’m happy to help you brainstorm who to reach out to or how.
See you tomorrow. Matt Cici
