The Simplest Way I Overcome My Writer’s Block
Everyone struggles with writer’s block.
Personally, I have… for years.
Here’s what I should have done instead (and what I do now when it happens again): 👇🏼
I remember when I started writing my first screenplay.
I would sit in front of my computer for hours. Trying to come up with the perfect dialogue or description. But, nothing would come to mind.
Then, I realized that writer’s block was a normal part of the creative process.
I was just doing the wrong thing.
And as soon as that clicked, I started to understand that overcoming my writer’s block wasn’t that hard.
Here’s what I learned to do:
🌳 🚶🏽♀️Take a break and explore the world around you.
Sometimes, all you need is a fresh perspective and new inspiration.
Whether it’s going for a walk, listening to an album, or trying a new hobby — it’s important to step away. Then, revisit with fresh eyes.
You’ll get the creative juices flowing again & overcome writer’s block.
For me, nature walks (or runs) did the trick. I would get new ideas and strengthen existing ones.
How about for you?
See you tomorrow. Matt Cici
